DECENTRALIZED COOPERATION PROGRAM DEDOUGOU -DOUAI, PHASEIII (PCD DEDO3)

Overall objective of the project

Strengthen local governance by consolidating the initiatives undertaken by development actors in the town of Dédougou.

Specific objective (s) of the project

  1.    Support rural development by securing cereal stocks through the intensification of warrantage activities (credit on a guaranteed grain stock) to fight against food insecurity and the promotion of production micro-project initiatives by Village Councils. Development;
  2.       Contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for access to drinking water and basic sanitation in the commune of Dédougou;
  3.     Promote digital solidarity through complementary developments at the multimedia center level and through the use of ICTs in the field of local management, economic activities, learning and training of young people, women and workers;
  4.     Strengthen local public services through specific training for municipal technical services and the acquisition of equipment to strengthen the project management capacity of the Mairie de Dédougou;
  5.     Support the empowerment of women through the creation of a credit granting fund for women's income-generating activities and their supervision through specific training.

INTERVENTION AREAS

  1.          Areas of intervention of the project: Water Hygiene Sanitation, local governance, food security, promotion of ICT, microcredit of women.

TOTAL BUDGET

The budget of the program is 506,744 Euros, or 332,402,859 FCFA divided between the following partners:

  •          The city of Douai: 150,000 Euros (98,393,550 CFA francs)
  •          The Artois Picardy Water Agency: 150,000 Euros (98,393,550 CFA francs)
  •          The French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MAEE): 103 000 Euros (67 563 571 F CFA)
  •          The municipality of Dédougou: 26 933 100 Euros (26 933 100 F CFA)
  •          Complementary Water Component CAD (former SIADO): 52,000 Euros (34,109,694 FCFA)

PROGRAM'S PARTNERS

  •     The various financial partners of the program are: the town of Dédougou, the city of Douai, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Artois Picardy Water Agency, the Agglomérat du Douaisis Community.
  •   Implementing partners: SOS SAHEL International France, SOS SAHEL International Burkina Faso, Burkina Faso.
