Drinking water supply and sanitation project in BAM province, Burkina Faso (PEPAB2)

Overall objective of the project

• Improve access to drinking water;

• Improve local water governance;

• Improve the level of hygiene and sanitation in the project area.

Specific objectives of the project

Increase the rate of coverage of drinking water and sanitation needs through the rehabilitation of existing boreholes, the creation of new boreholes and family latrines, while making their access sustainable by strengthening local project management capacities in the area. project intervention.


The project is active in the WASH sector (Water, Hygiene and Sanitation).



  •         Overall budget is estimated at 252,283, 26 euros (approximately 165,485,000 FCFA);
  •        MAE budget: 189 212, 45 euros (about 124 115 231 million FCFA).


The technical and financial partners of the project are:

• Association the Sun in the Hand (ASDM);

• Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEL);

• Technical support partners in the implementation of the project: SOS SAHEL International Burkina.

Local Partners for consultation and support for the implementation of the project:

• High commission, 2 special delegations of Kongoussi and Sabcé and the deconcentrated technical services of the State which are present in the 2 communes;

• Beneficiaries: The village development councils (CVD): project owners delegated to the action at the village level, will participate actively in capacity building activities and monitoring the physical achievements of the works with the populations of the 10 villages benefiting from the project .



  •          The project takes into account ten (10) villages in two communes (Sabcé and Kongoussi) of the Bam Province.Boucle du Mouhoun Region: Communes of Balavé, Kouka, Sami of the Province of Banwa and Bourasso, Djibasso and Sono of the Kossi Province
